The illustrator, àscar Villán, was awarded the Spanish National Illustration Prize in 1999. In 2000 the book was selected as 'Best Book for Children' by the Banco del Libro de Venezuela. In collaboration with BATA, an adaptation was published in the Makakiños collection that uses pictograms, a system that facilitates reading for people with educational needs.
